2010 Cox Charity Golf Classic Raises $40,000 for Local Charities
Cox is actively committed to supporting the good works of local nonprofits. As part of our community relations program and in an effort to better serve the Middle Georgia community, Cox hosts a charity golf tournament each year. All proceeds raised are then donated to two nonprofits (located within the Cox Middle Georgia service area) that address a critical community need.
For our 21st annual tournament, Cox employees selected local charities Hodac and Rebuilding Macon to serve as our 2010 beneficiaries. Rebuilding Macon helps repair homes for the disabled and low income elderly residents in Middle GA. Hodac provides support and education services to area youth with behavioral, academic, social and substance abuse issues. And with the help of annual sponsors, each received a check from Cox for $20,000.
Beginning this December, Cox will open its annual call for applications for the 2011 tournament. All 501c3 charities providing services and located within Cox Middle Georgia service areas are encouraged to apply at that time.
